Out on the line, that flexible electronics wafer is waiting for the soft bake that sets your linewidth control. A temperature drift of a few tenths is enough to shift the photoresist profile, and suddenly the lot walks out with a latent defect. We built our flexible electronics wafer heater to take that variability out of the equation.
What matters under the hood
We run short-wave infrared with a quartz-halogen source and closed-loop control, holding wafer-level uniformity at ±0.1°C across the active area. Shot-to-shot repeatability stays within ±0.05°C, so every bake lands the same as the last. The hot zone is engineered for Class 1–100 cleanrooms, with surface finishes and materials chosen to keep particle generation at zero during steady operation. Soft bake and hard bake profiles are executed with tight thermal budget control, and the system logs every run for full traceability.
Why it fits flexible electronics
These substrates are thin, thermally light, and unforgiving. A stable, uniform bake gives you consistent photoresist thickness, sharper critical dimension control, and fewer lithography reworks. Fast settling cuts idle time without chasing overshoot, so cycle time drops while yield stays protected. Power draw is matched to the thermal mass of the run, which lowers operating cost per wafer. Reliability, in practice, means continuous uptime—no unplanned stops and no maintenance calls that blow up the schedule.
What you need to run it clean
The heater needs a clean, dry power supply and a dedicated exhaust path to keep lamp output stable and temperatures safe. It works with standard carriers and interfaces, but if you’re dropping it into an older platform, expect a modest mechanical and electrical retrofit. Schedule that retrofit during a planned maintenance window—production shouldn’t pay for the changeover in lost hours.
