The 300mm length keeps that heat concentrated in the spot you’re aiming at. And the shortwave emission? That’s the magic. The energy goes straight to the plants and the soil, instead of just heating the air that rises up and disappears.
What It’s Made Of
We built the envelope out of quartz because it can handle the shock of being switched on and off again and again, without cracking. The halogen fill inside keeps the filament performing steadily, right from day one all the way to the end of the lamp’s life. Inside, there’s a special coating that fine-tunes the spectrum and keeps the filament from developing hot spots. And the R7s base? It’s a no-fuss connection that’s solid and secure. You can install it quickly, and it holds up to the constant vibration of greenhouse equipment.
Where It Shines
This setup is perfect for spot heating, keeping frost off sensitive plants, and holding steady microclimates in your greenhouse. It delivers a high density of heat, which is great, but it does mean you need to plan for proper cooling and clearance around the fixture. For engineers, it’s a breath of fresh air. It’s simple, tough, and it works right out of the box with existing R7s sockets. You get reliable, repeatable output without needing to mess with complex control hardware.
